Wabi-Sabi celebrated the day of love with a Valentine's special performance on 14th Feb for all the lovers and friends in Kolkata with the performance of Folk Mantra band singer Kabipriya Dutta Majumder, guitarist Shiladitya Sarkar and Bass guitarist Pronoy Chakraborty who belted out hindi popular bollywood and retro songs like ‌laal meri‌, iktara,‌kabira

Saroj Sharma, Director and Co Founder of the cafe on asking about the café's unique name said,
"Wabi" is simplicity, whether elegant or rustic; "sabi" means the beauty of age and wear. It is our privilege to welcome you to this abode of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete, the antithesis of our classical notion of beauty as something perfect, enduring, and monumental.
While the philosophy of wabi-sabi is vast – we aspire to translate it into a simple experience for you." The event was organized by PR and Event Manager Sufia Khatoon who is an artist and poet herself. " I think this kind of interesting gatherings in a cafe is very important for the creative lovers and the locals to enjoy every bit of life to get inspired and make wabi sabi a part of their culture. The cafe will be hosting many more such events in the future with an amazing quality of food for Kolkata to look forward to."

Wabi-Sabi Cafe’s Musical Launch

Wabi Sabi, a lifestyle boutique and cafe which opened its doors to the food and culture lovers of Kolkata hosted some of the best upcoming talents to mark its launch on the 3rd and 4th of December 2016.

3rd December being the first day in the series of creative events, spanning across four months saw the earthy ambience of Wabi-Sabi cafe breath in the true essence of love for food and music when a known face in the music world Deep Phoenix and ‘Whale in the Pond’ band performed for the guests and music lovers alike as a part of the musical launch event.

On the following day we had Rhythm Divine Poets group hosting “High tea with poets and musicians” in association with the cafe. Poets like Sufia Khatoon, Ipsita Ganguli, Ranjani Roychowdhury, Amit Shankar Saha, Sana Mohammed, Bob DCosta, Sumant Poddar, Pragya Goel Gupta, Ahana Bhaumik, Aparajita Dutta, Zainab Iqbal and many others had recited on the theme of “Perfections and Imperfections “ in their own words and interpretations.
